4x Western Canadian Music Award Nominee, and Fraser Valley Music Award winner Michael Zanidean aka Hooper Turnt Sanger (fka GHOST) is an MC, Singer, Songwriter, Dj, Engineer, professional basketball player, actor, motivational speaker, and young entrepreneur. Michael’s family moved from Lebanon to Canada where he was born in Calgary Alberta and moved back and forth between Calgary and Vancouver before finally settling in Coquitlam when Michael was 7 years old. With a competitive soul, passion to excel and a drive to be something, Michael picked up a basketball and started going to the courts. Chasing the dream of a basketball scholarship, Michael kept releasing street ball videos online under the given alias “Ghost”. After high school, and a lot of internet social networking, Michael had the opportunity to go play for a grassroots prep school team in Toronto, Ontario and soon after Michael was awarded a full athletic scholarship to Lemoyne Owen College in Memphis, TN. He later joined the Internationally known And1 Street ball tour and was able to travel extensively.
Once done with his professional career Michael moved back to Vancouver and began a career as a rapper, a passion which had started in high school and developed in college and while on tour with And1. Michael decided to focus a little more closely on his craft and push his music.
Within a year and with close to 40 songs done, Michael decided to release his music. Michael started utilizing his street ball fan base to generate views, song plays, and having him peak #4 on the Vancouver hip-hop chart of ReverbNation. Within the first 2 months Michael had already started booking performances at local shows and nightclubs, opening for the likes of Swollen Members, Kid Ink, D-12, Tech N9ne, Krizz Kaliko, Hopsin, and more. Performing 40+ shows in his first year releasing music Michael had found his lane and had that entertaining bug again. Soon after Michael started making more of a name for himself and creating a buzz. The opportunity to go on his first tour arose as the official supporting act for Madchild’s record- breaking, 45 city DOPESICK tour. Developing a lyrical and passionate delivery
accompanied by smooth melodies and singing Michael started making more noise as a canadian standout. This progression started opening up the doors to more Canadian tours he would support for International superstars such as Machine Gun kelly, Tech N9ne, Onyx, YG, and Mayday. Generating over 275,000 streams, over 1 MILLION youtube views, and tireless networking, this momentum provided him his first co headlining tour on Madchild’s 24 city ’Head In The Clouds Tour’ where his networking had him as Madchild’s Tour support, DJ, and Hype man. Embracing the whole experience, Michael made the final transition from a dabbling athlete to a full-fledged MC who is hungry to put himself, his team, and his city on the map on a worldwide level once again.
