Short Bio

The Jason Lane Band (JLB) is a five piece band that delivers the best of upbeat, danceable rock and blues music from the 70s to the 90s. Fronted by powerhouse singer Chantal Sayers, the band pays homage to the songs that influenced them and the powerful female singers of that time. The audience will immediately recognize the tributes to Alannah Myles, Aretha Franklin, Sass Jordan, Tracy Chapman, Melissa Etheridge and Lady Gaga. The group discovered their love for this hard-hitting blues-rock blend while the brother/sister duo of Jason and Chantal were part of a group prior to JLB. This in-depth musical past has perfectly carved the band’s career path, setting them up for a passionate, visceral approach to playing.

Although the band leans heavily on covering these classic tunes, they have also recorded and released three EPs containing their own original, blues-rock sound. The four song EP Speed Of Sound demonstrated the band’s potential with the successful, high energy single Black Magic Woman. The second EP, Wildcard, was released in March of 2021. With the help of Earshot! and the NCRA affiliates, JLB received pan-Canadian radio exposure for the feature single (and video) Don’t Let The Blues Win. This single was also entered into the CBC Searchlight 2021 song contest and the WCMA 2022 awards. The song was also featured in two on-line music magazines…Great Dark Wonder and Rock And Roll Entertainment.

The current and most recent EP was released on June 18, 2022. The CD release party at a club in Vancouver was wildly successful. It is a 6 song EP entitled Stone In The Water. The first video, Say Goodbye, has done better than the band could ever hope for and recently the second video Choose Another Lover has just been released.

Whether the band is in the studio or on the stage you can be sure of a lot of positivity and energy.
