Ted Kim is a singer/songwriter and recording artist from Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada.

Ted, a self-taught multi-instrumentalist, playing guitar, drums, bass, piano, synths, and trumpet. In addition to his solo career, Ted drums for the Chilliwack punk/ska/alternative band Like Bears, and Lead Guitar for Alt-Punk band Gord. In the absence of live performances during the global pandemic, Ted has expanded his musical portfolio to include recording and producing.

His earlier work bannered under the alias “Dear Father”, and released two records, 100 Years (2017) and Away from Home (2021), a Factor funded project. During this time Ted entertained audiences coast to coast with his soft melancholic sound, and was nominated for a total of 5 FVMA Awards.

Ted’s musical influences include contemporary folk and alternative rock artists from the 90’s and early 2000’s such as City & Colour and Radiohead.

In early 2024 Ted released a string of singles which led to the release of his debut album “Another way” (August 2024), which charted at various community/campus radio stations across the country, and gave Ted the Folk Artist of the Year nomination for the Fraser Valley Music Awards. The album was written, recorded, mixed and mastered by him in his home studio in Chilliwack.

Ted is currently working on his next album.
