Connection to Fraser Valley: When I first moved to BC I moved to Maple Ridge and then spent 2 years living in Langley. I moved to Vancouver 3 years ago now but I still play the brewery circuit and my Parents still live in Maple Ridge so I spend a lot of time in the area. It feels like home. Still 75% of my live band is from the Fraser Valley and we practice out in Langley.
Robyn Froese, known affectionately as “Vancouver’s Janis Joplin,” is a rising soul-folk artist from Canada who brings a unique and powerful take to sad girl music. Think – Joni Mitchell meets Amy Winehouse. Robyn Froese’s music delves into themes of addiction and mental health with raw honesty. She comes alive while performing; you’ll feel like you sat down with an old friend for coffee, who just happens to be really good at belting. Over the past two years, Froese has been actively honing her craft, releasing music, touring across Canada, the States, and also in France – while exploring the role of a creative as an artist in residence. With upcoming plans for a strategic single release this fall, Froese embraces the opportunity to further connect with her audience and expand her musical horizons. Robyn Froese looks forward to continuing her evolution as both an artist and a beacon of authenticity in the industry.
