Rafael Brisebois is a 16-year-old musician (piano, viola, violin) whose talent has been nurtured in the Fraser Valley from a young age, starting at Music Language Studios in Mission. He is a long-time member of the Abbotsford Youth Orchestra, where he is Principal Violist, and has performed as a guest musician with the Fraser Valley Symphony. He has been thrilling audiences throughout the Fraser Valley for around a decade, in innumerable concerts and performances, in ensemble and as a soloist, from formal gala events to seniors’ homes performances. Locals may have seen him busking at many City of Mission events and the Farmers’ Market. He has won many awards for his virtuosity in piano, violin and viola and for his compositions. For example, first place at the 2019 Abbotsford Agrifair Talent Show. Also in the Fraser Valley, he won top prizes in the three separate disciplines of senior piano, senior strings and composing at the 2021 Chilliwack Lions Club Music and Dance Festival. From there he went on to win first place in the provincial competition in piano. He also won first place both for senior strings and composing at the 2021 Abbotsford Music Festival.
