Darryl picked up a guitar at the age of 8. He has learned to play by listening to, watching and playing with some of the best. His unique style is a marriage of old style finger picking and two finger rhythms. In more recent years he has added the banjo to his arsenal and here too he’s found a fusion of bluegrass and clawhammer styles. As to reading music, he follows the old banjo player adage….”not enough to hurt my playing”.
Darryl is one of the founding members of the local Highbrow Hillbilly band ” J.D. Miner”.
