Connection to Fraser Valley: My happiest memories growing up were summers spent in the Fraser Valley. As soon as school was out we would pile into my mothers minivan and head into the sunshine. Dinotown, Bridal Falls water park, Othello Tunnels, Harrison Lake, with Chilliwack corn hauls along the way. Summer was coloured by these day trips that let a middle class family feel like they were somewhere else for a little while.
Camellia Grove is the cinematic pop project of Canadian multi-instrumentalist Kevin McCarthy. Like a young Elton John fronting for the Killers, Kevin’s ambition for stadium sized drama was informed by the legends before him. From his home in Vancouver, Kevin writes, records, performs, and produces bittersweet love songs on top of a bed of unrelenting energy.
